Welcome To Central Academy For State Forest Service
Central Academy For State Forest Service(CASFOS), Burnihat, under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, had been established in the year 1976 which was then named as State Forest Service College cum Research Centre (SFSC&RC) with the primary objective of imparting professional training to the fresh ACF recruits from different states of the country to produce competent forest managers and also to conduct research work in forestry in bio-diversity rich North Eastern states of the country. Subsequently in September 1988 the then SFSC&RC was rechristened as State Forest Service College (SFSC) and further on 14.08.2009 the erstwhile SFSC has been upgraded and rechristened as Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS) by the Government of India.
Central Academy for State Forest Service is one of the premier professional forestry training Academies catering to the training requirements of personnel from the forestry sector at the level of Range Officers and Assistant Conservator of Forests. Officers recruited by the State Public Service Commissions, State/UT Forest Development Corporations or such other PSU’s or entities are trained here imparting professional training in forestry at service entry religiously following the Entrance and Training Rules 2004 of SFS and RFO’s that is amended from time to time.
This website is a humble and earnest effort to remove the time and distance between the Academy and Officers who have passed out from this Academy or regular trainees in particular and other stake holders in general for matters related to professional skill and knowledge sharing.
